April 5, 2010, is going to be a huge day for TNA. For one they are going live and whenever they go live it is big, but this week is different then weeks past. Last Monday they had their worst rating going only the way back to the Saturday night Impact days. Which was in 2005. TNA need to step it up and show us what they can really do on a wrestling show. Yeah they have one big match for this week's show. Mr. Anderson vs Kurt Angle in a ladder match. Should be a great match.
What else are they going to do though? Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair are going to name the rest of their teams which should be interesting and quite possibly we could see a 5 on 5 tag team preview match. That might happen, but I guess we will have to wait and see. Other then those two segments TNA is going to have to blow us wrestling fans out of the water. Will they do it? I don't have the answer, but looking at last week's show, I wouldn't be to encouraged.
TNA have a little advantage over WWE next week. They are going one hour earlier and Raw doesn't have that big name guest host. David Otunga is Raw's host, which he could bring Jennifer Hudson, but I don't think she is enough to persuade viewers if they open the show with him or her compared to Impact entering that hour. TNA will have the advantage in the first hour as most wrestling fans will watch TNA as a warm up then check to see what is on Raw at nine and if it is something weak or if TNA is doing the Kurt Angle vs Mr. Anderson match or another big exciting match, then I think viewers would stay tuned with TNA.
Now, if Raw opens the show with John Cena I think you could see a lot of fans switch over to Raw if they were watching Impact. That is still pending as depending on what Impact is doing coming into that hour. Something interesting and exciting has to be happening heading into the nine o'clock hour. Otherwise viewers will just turn over to Raw. Tuesday after the shows is going to be very nerve-racking for TNA. If the ratings prove to be a huge success, meaning over the 1.0 rating mark, then I think Spike TV and TNA will move one hour earlier, but if the ratings plummet, I think you could see Spike TV and TNA at each others throats.
